Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
As an individual, my principles align more closely with those who argue the "pro-life" side of this debate. However, the complexity of the issue and this nations history with the failures of prohibition necessitates that it be left to the conscience of the Individual, absent the involvement of the state. While I will legislatively support options of choice, I will not support any government funding of programs involved in such a practice.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
Unknown Position Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
The education of our children is one of the most fundamentally important tasks a society has. As such, we can never entrust that responsibility to nameless bureaucrats 1000 miles away. No child left behind truly means no child allowed to excel. Setting universal standards fails to account for the unique needs of each child, and the values of each community. Education should be managed on the most local level possible, with the final arbiter of standards being the educators and parents directly involved in the lives of the children- not politicians and bureaucrats.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
An individual's right to self-defense, whether from a criminal threat or government oppression, is absolute and natural. This right is not granted by the United States Constitution, merely recognized and protected by it. The founders drafted the second amendment with the intent of forbidding future governments from infringing on that natural right of defense, yet with every new restriction passed these rights are infringed.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
The prohibition of Marijuana, or any other drug, has catalyzed a multi-billion dollar black market for recreational use in this country. We have Lost the war on drugs, and it's time we acknowledge that fact. Harm reduction tactics should replace law enforcement actions, and products should be sold openly and legally, subject to the quality control of a demand-driven market economy.
No Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
This Nation's foreign intervention has been a dramatic destabilizing force in the middle east. We are not the world's police, and it is time we refocused our energy and expenditures on rebuilding our own collapsing cities and infrastructure, rather than making enemies across the globe with failed, costly and deadly exploratory nation-building experiments.
My most important priority when elected will be a reform of the unelected bureaucracy that dictates policy and law in this country. The American people have been sold a lie of transparent democracy, and it is beyond time to restore representation to the people at large, instead of allowing DC Staffers to dictate the future of this country.
